New wind turbine performance record

The powerful, reaching 220 metersów height of the V164 turbine, whichóThe wings are 80 meters longów, is set up offshore at a wind turbine test field near the Danish town of Thisted. The entire structure weighs 38 tons, and the area, któhe area covered by the rotating wings of the turbine is 21,124 square meters.

V164 device, thanks to whichóhe record for generated power has been broken, an 8-megawatt turbine thatóra has been modified and, under the right conditions, can reach megawatts of energy more. The amount of energy produced is enough to meet the needs of more than 7,000 households.

The improved turbine has wkrótce to be introduced to the market. – We believe the 9-megawatt machine has just proven that it is ready for its market debut. We believe that our turbines will further reduce energy prices – said Torben Hvid Larsen, an employee of the turbine’s operator, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.

The wind turbine market continues to grow. The leader in this field is Denmark, whichóra has been investing in wind farms since the 1970s. Nowadays, turbines are getting bigger and bigger, and consequently they are getting more and more power. Continuous increase in productivity allows to reduce the costóin obtaining energy.

The lifespan of such a wind turbine has been set at 25 years. 80 percent. The structures were made of materialów, whichóre can be recycled.
